私の仕事 ｜
現場に通い、その場所の光を身体で感じる。朝と夕では質が違い、曇天の日には別の顔を見せる。
季節が変わり、人が老いてゆく中で、
光だけが日々空間を新しくする。
翳は光の欠如ではない。
光が長く滞在した場所に、自然と生まれるものだ。
そこは生き物にとって快適なねぐらとなる。
家は、人の生と死を最も近くで引き受ける場所、
常に明るく、前向きである必要はない。
誇張のない正直な空間が、人の心を静かに支える。
私が建築をつくるのは、儚くも小さな、しかし自立した人間が、
ここに在ると感じられる場所を、
この世界に一つずつ加えていくためだ。
それは小さくとも、広がりを心の中につくるもの。
建築とはそういう可能性を持つものだと思う。

My Work ｜
I go to the site, and learn the light of that place with my body.Morning and evening carry different qualities.
On overcast days, a different face appears.
As seasons change and the inhabitants grow older,
only light renews the space, every single day.
Shadow is not the absence of light.
It is what naturally appears
where light has stayed for a long time.
There, it becomes a comfortable nest for living creatures.
A home is the place that receives, most closely,
the living and the dying of a person,
It does not need to be always bright, always forward-looking.
A space without exaggeration, an honest space,
quietly sustains the human heart.
I make architecture
to add, one by one, to this world
places where fleeting, small, yet independent human beings
can feel that they exist here.
Small as they are, these places create
a vast expanse within the heart.
I believe architecture holds that possibility.
